My Time Now...

Sometimes we fall down and can’t get back up
We’re hiding behind skin that’s too tough
How come we don’t say ‘I love you’ enough?

‘Til it’s too late, it’s not too late

Our hearts are hungry for a food that won’t come
We could make a feast from these crumbs
And we’re all staring down the barrel of a gun
So if your life flashed before you
What would you wish you would’ve done?

Yeah…we gotta start looking at the hands of the time we’ve been given here
This is all we got and we gotta start pickin’ it
Every second counts on a clock that’s tickin’

Gotta live like we’re dying

We only got 86-400 seconds in a day to
Turn it all around or to throw it all away
We gotta tell ‘em that we love ‘em while we got the chance to say

Gotta live like we’re dying

And if your plane fell out of the skies
Who would you call with your last goodbye?
Should be so careful who we live out our lives
So when we long for absolution
There’ll be no one on the line

It's Not by Works

A few weeks ago, at N.O.W. (our Sunday School Class), we found a startling discovery; something that PROVES good deeds don’t get you into heaven: When Jesus was hanging on the cross, he was flanked on either side by two men who deserved their deaths. They were thieves, liars, cheats, and who knows what else.

One of them said to Jesus that He should get them all down and save them if He really was the Son of God. The man was mocking Jesus, even in the face of certain death, he mocked Him-who-came-to-save.

Mountain Lion Kittens for Sale!

It is funny how a little rumor will turn into an elaborate tale - quite literally - over night!
A few weeks ago, the newspaper staff had heard about a mountain lion sighting in our county and set out to find the roots of the rumor.
Some of the rumors that were going around town by Monday would read something like the following article if we didn’t check into all of our news sources and just wrote from hearsay!

(We did print this article, but just for fun - italics are my added notes)

God's Got a Point

One day, a doctor of medicine was complaining to the Lord - although, he didn't think God was listening - and was going on and on about how terrible the world is turning out and all the bad things that God seems to be just letting happen.

"God," he said. "Why haven't you sent us people who have the knowledge to heal the sick? I mean, people who can find a cure for cancer and the like? And if you don't send someone, why haven't you come down and stepped into this country and fixed all our problems?"
