If You Give a Mouse a Cookie...

There was a mouse in my house tonight. Literally.
My sister and I were just relaxing in our apartment when we heard the rustling of the cracker package that had been left setting out on the counter. We both exchanged a look and knew what the source of the sound was even though we’d never had rodent problems before. Neither of us shrieked; we just went into action.

I Shall Be Great

I have great ideas locked up inside of me; it's just that I haven't mastered all of the skills necessary to get them out onto the page yet.
Every day I try a little more to give words to my visions; I write a few more sentences hoping that my outlook on the world will be properly expressed. And each time I set my hand to writing, I come just a little closer to saying exactly what I'm trying to say.

My Time Now...

Sometimes we fall down and can’t get back up
We’re hiding behind skin that’s too tough
How come we don’t say ‘I love you’ enough?

‘Til it’s too late, it’s not too late

Our hearts are hungry for a food that won’t come
We could make a feast from these crumbs
And we’re all staring down the barrel of a gun
So if your life flashed before you
What would you wish you would’ve done?

Yeah…we gotta start looking at the hands of the time we’ve been given here
This is all we got and we gotta start pickin’ it
Every second counts on a clock that’s tickin’

Gotta live like we’re dying

We only got 86-400 seconds in a day to
Turn it all around or to throw it all away
We gotta tell ‘em that we love ‘em while we got the chance to say

Gotta live like we’re dying

And if your plane fell out of the skies
Who would you call with your last goodbye?
Should be so careful who we live out our lives
So when we long for absolution
There’ll be no one on the line

It's Not by Works

A few weeks ago, at N.O.W. (our Sunday School Class), we found a startling discovery; something that PROVES good deeds don’t get you into heaven: When Jesus was hanging on the cross, he was flanked on either side by two men who deserved their deaths. They were thieves, liars, cheats, and who knows what else.

One of them said to Jesus that He should get them all down and save them if He really was the Son of God. The man was mocking Jesus, even in the face of certain death, he mocked Him-who-came-to-save.
